The Application

We completed our "training" sessions and began our home study. Our home study was completed and approved quite quickly.....we then began the next phase of waiting for our family. We had a few calls informing us that our name was put forward for children, but we were never chosen by the social worker.

It was in the fall of 2004, Greg had been laid off work and called back, but he wasn't getting many hours. We had no idea when we would be getting our family so we decided now was the time for him to quit his job and go back to school full time. We got the funds in place, registered for school and he was ready to begin January 2005. However, in November we get a phone call saying that our name was being put forward for two babies that were both due in a few weeks. We waited....

The social worker called and said that they would like to meet with us. We went in to have an interview with the child's social worker and we were asked at that time if we would also consider taking a sibling if we were indeed chosen for the unborn child. We said yes we would also consider taking a sibling as well. A few days later we got a phone call saying we were the chosen parents of the unborn baby due in 3 weeks!
