The Waiting.....

The baby was due December 2nd.....December 2nd came and went......so did the 10th......my friend Gerri had a baby shower for me and invited some of my friends, and yep, I didn't have a baby to show! ;-) Finally, Friday, December 17th the phone rang, it's a boy! I was so excited, I ran upstairs at work and said, "I've had a boy!" Of course I left work within an hour or so and went home to busily get the nursery ready. That day was a blur!

The next day the social worker brought the baby home to us, she brought him inside the door and went out to her car to get something. The baby was sitting in his car seat still completely covered, I took a peek under the covers and saw the cutest little baby you could imagine!

I don't want to post his full name here because I'm conscious of the fact that his biological parents are still out there and due to the nature of the adoption I am very conscious of what we say, etc. in public. But Kai David Eric is ours.....from the beginning there was no question. I swear he has Vincent blood in him, he's the life of the party, everything is fun and games!

Now I have this newborn and I'm instantly a mom! Because we did the foster with a view to adopt we had weekly supervised visits with the biological parents, this was always a hard time for me. I have to admit I was pleased when they didn't show up for their visits because I felt it helped our case. I tried to not let these visits affect my time and bonding with Kai and if you saw him with me now you would know that it didn't! :-)

Vincent blood for sure!
To make a 'good' Vincent you have to be the 'life of the party, everything is fun and games'!

Nana (Vincent) ha-ha
