Proud!

When the school year started that boys were attending a before school program, for many reasons I altered my work hours so that I could drop the boys off at school and not use the before school program.

For those of you that know CJ you can well imagine this wasn't an easy transition. He doesn't like change and does NOT like crowded areas with lots of kids. The first few times I dropped him off I ended up leaving him kicking and screaming with the yard duty staff.

As the time went on (a couple of weeks) it got to the point where he would wait until all the kids were in the school and then walk hand in hand with the yard duty staff into the school without any issue. The school began giving him Panther Paws if he went into school without an issue and was able to go right to class instead of the resource room to settle down, this was a great incentive for him. After a while he stopped asking for the Panther Paws so they were going to phase them out, but the yard duty staff suggested that he only earn one now if he walked in with his class and didn't have to wait until the yard was empty.

The following week we began this transition. When the bell rang he stood in line with his class, with us standing beside him, and when the class started to walk in he'd give us one last hug, but then would go! Wow! SUCCESS! After a couple of days we are now able to stand beside him in line initially, but very quickly move a couple of feet away and he is continuing to go in with his classmates without any issue.

This is a huge accomplishment for CJ! We are very PROUD of him!

You'll be Sorry!

Kai was running down the hall and Greg says, "Kai you better stop running, you'll fall and crack your head open. Then you'll be sorry!"

Kai turns around and says, "You can't say sorry when your head is cracked open!"

True, you can't argue with that logic! :-)

The Rules!

We were pulling into the nursing home parking lot and Greg says to the boys, "Now do you know the rules for here?"

CJ: "No running!
Kai: "No yelling!"
CJ: "No smoking! Do you think Nana knows that one?"

Hahahaha....I'm sure Nana does know that one but we better tell her again just in case! :-)

Happy Halloween

We had a very busy Halloween this year, it started off bu us putting on our costumes and heading out to visit Poppy.....this year we were Hot Wheels Race Car Drivers!

As soon as CJ put his costume on he automatically had this swagger! It was hilarious.....as we were walking down the hall to see poppy, one of the works says, "Where'd you guys come from?" To which CJ replies, "We just flew in!" :-)
After we went to visit poppy we headed over to the church and participated in the Trunk 'n Treat...it was a lot of fun.....but it was windy.....one of the conversations went like this:
Perron - "Sue can you turn the wind down."
Sue - "Sorry I can't"
CJ - "It's not my fault, it's Jesus!"
After we trick or treated the cars trunks we went inside for some hot chocolate. The boys wanted one, I handed it to CJ and said, "Be careful it's hot." To which he replies, "That's ok, us Hot Wheels guys like it hot!"
Then we headed home and had supper before heading out in the neighbourhood......

Another great day had by everyone!

Fall Clean-Up!

Just having some fun in the leaves!

Growing Up....

I always said Kai potty trained himself. Well Thursday night he told me he didn't want a pull-up for bed. I was like ok.....he's been completely dry through the night ever since! :-)

Since Kai didn't want to wear pull-ups anymore through the night, I also decided that I wouldn't get CJ up anymore. I was getting him up around 10ish to go potty, he would then be dry in the morning. CJ too has also been completely dry through the night every since! :-)
