Proud....

My posts usually consists of cute/funny stories or frustrations....so today I wanted to make a post about how proud I was of CJ yesterday.

CJ has been having issues with hands on, etc. at school and has visited the Principal's office a few times, etc. Monday was not a particularly good day at school and he had to spend some time in the resource room. Anyway, yesterday was a day care day. When I picked him up last night the one staff said to me, "CJ had a great day today." Which was good, he usually has good days at day care so that wasn't too out of the ordinary.

Yesterday I also signed CJ up at Oxford Learning because he is struggling in a few areas at school and I wanted to get him the extra help to make it easier for him. Whenever we try anything new with CJ it is always a fight to get him to participate. I told CJ he was going to a meeting with mommy. We arrived at Oxford Learning, I stayed with him in class for a few minutes and then I was able to go sit out in the lobby and wait, whew, first hurdle accomplished. He stayed in for the full hour and he was quite excited and pleased with himself when they were done. He even said he wanted to go back.....ok, hurdle number two accomplished!

They were able to determine areas that he needs to work on and was able to come up with a plan to assist him in those areas. I told him how proud I was of him for participating and listening. He was grinning from ear to ear. I said that he did a great job and he was really excited about going back, because after all, he got to play snakes and ladders! :-)

This morning I was dropping Kai off at day care and CJ was waiting at the door for me. His regular staff was on the early shift (she wasn't there when I picked him up last night) and she said, "I want you to know mom how great a day CJ had yesterday. He had a wonderful day with no issues whatsoever!" I looked at CJ and again told him how proud I was of him. He again looked up at me grinning from ear to ear.

As we got to the van I said to CJ, for Ingrid to tell me this morning what a great day you had yesterday, that makes me very proud. I dropped him off at school grinning from ear to ear!

WAY TO GO CJ!
