Crazy Week!

Monday night (around 11:00 p.m.) Greg calls me and says, I'm going to the hospital by ambulance, I've hurt my back. You don't need to come, I'll call you when I'm ready to be picked up. I'm like, ok. I wake up at 4:00 a.m., no call, I wake at 6:00 a.m. and look up the number for the hospital. I get to speak with Greg and he's like I've fractured two vertebrae and they are going to have to do back surgery! I'm like, no seriously, what's wrong when will you be home. He's like, I'm serious!

So I drop the kids off to their locations for the day and head to the hospital. I wait all day and all day he was on the on-call list for the OR. I leave at 3:00 p.m. to pick up the kids and get them settled for the evening. I'm just getting in the door and the phone is ringing and it's the hospital telling me I had to bring X number of dollars tomorrow because Greg needs a brace. I'm like, ok, he needs a brace even though he's having surgery? To which they reply, he's not having surgery! WHAT!!! It's great that he's not having surgery, but how did it drastically change in an hour?

Anyway, we waited all day today and the brace didn't show up until 5:00 p.m. at which the physio team is gone. Anyway, the plan for the morning is to begin physio, once Greg is mobile he will be sent home. He has a long recovery road ahead of him and for those of you who read this that are prayers....we would appreciate all the prayers for a speedy and good recovery!

I took the boys up to see daddy tonight (Kai has been having difficulty with daddy being gone). The Reilly's were there, so they were praying for Greg before they left. Kai was sitting on my knee, and my eyes were open because I was wanting to make sure that they didn't press any buttons on daddy's bed because he's to be completely flat...anyway, Kai looks at me and says, "Mommy, close your eyes. We are praying to Jesus for daddy!" I was like, "Sorry, Kai."

Then just before we were leaving Kai looked at me and put my hands in the praying "position" and said, "Mommy, pray for daddy!" At one point Kai also put his hand up to Greg's cheek and rubbed his face saying, "Hi daddy!" I think he misses him! :-)
