Fair Haven 2008

So our first day at Fair Haven's has been interesting. The morning started off with rain, the rain let up so we headed out puddle jumping. We found this gate and took a little stroll and found this "lock" where the ships go through. We watched them raising a couple of boats, the boys didn't quite grasp what was happening but Greg and I enjoyed talking with the "workers" and seeing it all transpire.

A little later we headed over to the pool. At one point Greg looked at me and said, "How did this happen?" Greg and I were both in the pool and the boys were sitting in the edge throwing us the ball. Then some thunder happened again so we had to get out of the pool...we sat outside our cottage in our swimming gear for a little while in case the thunder ceased and we were able to go back swimming. However, while we were sitting there we notice that Fair Haven's has a problem with wildlife in the trees. This is a little concerning seeing as these tress are right outside our domain for the week. Take a look at the pictures you'll understand why we are worried.

After playing wildlife in the trees, we headed out in search of bugs. Mommy was hoping that we didn't find too many! I'm happy to report we only spotted a few ants....maybe we'll be more successful tomorrow??

After looking for a few bugs, we headed to the van and got the much anticipated bikes out of the van....can you figure out who's riding what?

We then spent the rest of the afternoon riding out bikes around the area outside our "cottage" until the BBQ was ready. After supper we went on a "hay" ride around the campground and got to see most of it....then it was quickly off to bed. Kai was almost asleep on the tractor ride, but once he got into the cottage it was wide awake. He kept kissing me and not laying down, so I left him in the room with daddy. By the way - CJ was out like a light!
