So I get a phone call from the day care yesterday. I called them back thinking nothing is up, I'm still doing stuff for them in the evenings some times so not unusual. Kim answers the phone and I jokingly say, "Anyone vomiting?" "No" "Anyone with diarrhea?" "No" "Anyone sick?" "No" "Any limbs missing?" (Kai's finger incident last January) "No" "Ok, proceed" Kim says, "Kai was scratched really bad and bitten today on his face." I said, "How bad is bad?" She says, "Pretty bad, he's got scratches on both sides of his face and was bit up near his eye." So for them to call me ahead of time to "warn" me what he looks like you know it's bad. So I head to get him after work is over and he does look pretty bad, poor little thing.
Anyway Kim took Kai down to the Senior Preschoolers and said, "This is why we keep our hands to ourselves and we don't hurt our friends." She looks at CJ and says, "What do you think mommy is going to say?" He looks at her with this face and says, "But, I didn't do it!" She said, "I know CJ, but what do you think mommy is going to say?" He says, "Mommy is going to be very very upset."
Apparently later that afternoon CJ looked at his staff and says, "What are those Juniors doing to my brother down there?"
Good news, Kai doesn't seem any worse for wear, but if you ask him what he's going to do if this child comes near him again he says, "I'm going to push her away and say, "NO thank you!"
I'm apparently a little bit distracted today, I was taking CJ to school (or at least I was supposed to be) and I was driving along, looked in the back and realized I didn't have Kai and that I was driving the wrong way, CJ was just sitting there quiet and I'm like, shoot, I was supposed to be taking him to school, so I turn around and head back, drop him off and then go home get Kai and take him to day care....I hope it's not a sign of the kind of day I'm going to have! :-)
