I was informed that he still has four baby teeth to come in, the dentist said usually around 2 1/2, I explained that Kai didn't get his first tooth until he was 12 months old, so the dentist said, ok, it might be a while before he gets these ones then!
I have been concerned about the gap I was noticing between Kai's upper and lower teeth. CJ didn't have one and I was wondering if it might be being caused by the soother. You see, Kai was a real soother baby, it's only been about the last 6 months that he only had it during nap time, prior to that when he was home he had it quite a bit. Anyway, the dentist asked if he sucked his thumb. I said, "No, soother." He explained that he was be ginning to see signs of damage the soother was causing. And that we should get rid of it right away. We would likely have a couple of rough nights for sleeping but it needed to happen.

So Kai and I came home, I got his soother, I said to Kai this is for babies. You are a big boy! And with that I cut the nipple off. Kai looked at me wide-eyed and said, "No, do that Mommy!" Shortly after this "happened" Gabe came and I said, "see Kai, Gabe is a baby, soothers are for babies." Kai was walking up and down the hallway, and I hear this, "Soother for babies." In a not so very happy tone!
Anyway, it's been two nights....last night was a little rough, he cried for about 15 minutes after I put him to bed, and was up once through the night, and he asked quite a bit for it when I was putting him to bed. But overall I don't think it's going too badly!
