Amazing

Warning - bodily functions described below!
Last night I was getting the boys ready for bed and I was going to change Kai's diaper and he says, "I pee on toilet." I thought yep, ok, let's go. So I put him on the toilet and he sitting there and then I see the face. I say, "Are you pooping?" Kai says, "Yes, poop." Sure enough he did it. So I take him off the toilet and say, "Let's look, you've got poopy in the toilet! Yeah, give mommy a high five. Now let's flush it away." To which he takes great pride in flushing the toilet. Then as I'm cleaning him, he's looking up saying, "I poopy mommy!"

He had a rough night sleeping last night, Greg was working overnight so I threw him on the bed with me. He was awake from 2:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. and then at 5:30 a.m. he decided it was a good time to sing the Itsy Bitsy Spider. Anyway, 6:30 a.m. rolled around and it was time to get up and going, so I'm taking Kai downstairs to get dressed and he says, "I pee on toilet?" So I'm like, sure, go back to the bathroom, sit him on the potty and yep, he did it. He peed! He does his surprise look and says, "I pee mommy! It coming!" Again, high fives all around!

However, he seems to be doing not so bad at home but he is absolutely refusing to sit on the toilet for the day care staff. In fact yesterday he actually got mad at one of the staff and in no uncertain terms made sure she knew he was not going to sit on that toilet.

Ah, the joys of potty training! Gotta love it!
