Potty Training...
Ok, so all you experienced potty trainers out there......I need help!!!!! We are wanting to seriously start potty training CJ and we are not sure where to start! I've come up with a potty training chart so that he can get a sticker each time he uses the potty, etc. But I'm open and wanting tips and tricks from all you parents that have done this before......please and thank you!

Oh you brave woman...potty training Syrus took forever..so let's hope CJ doesn't take after him. Syrus was Mister Lazy Bones when it came to the potty training..didn't want anything to do with it. It actually took about 7 months before he got the hang of it. On a positive note...Brock took about a month and the sticker chart on the fridge helped tremendously
I think you're already into the process, so I'm not sure if our system will work or not. We used a book called "Mommy, I Have to Go Potty". You start out putting the child on the potty with their clothes on for a few days until they get the hang of that. Then you have a few days where you put them on without a diaper but don't expect anything to happen. You're always talking to them about using the potty and getting them comfortable with it. For us, Darcy suddenly just started peeing one night, a few days after starting that second phase. We had picked up some good potty books geared at kids for her to read too.
Did you get him to pick out his own underwear? If he has underwear that he's excited about wearing, then he might work harder at the whole thing.
I don't know if any of that helps at all. I also like the pull ups that have the design on the front that fades when they've peed, but Darcy doesn't like the ones that have the stay wet feel. She also gets a diaper rash if we use those ones.
