Saturday night we were driving home from the mall. CJ was singing in the back seat and starting singing Read your Bible, pray every day. So we all began to sing along. Sunday morning at church, during children's time Mrs. Reilly started singing a children's song and it was Read your Bible, pray every day and you'll grow, grow, grow. So there was CJ sitting there singing at the top of his lungs, doing the actions. I would also like to mention that he was the only one doing the actions! :-) Too cute!
During children's time, Mrs. Reilly was talking about praying. She was asking the kids where they pray. She points the mike to CJ who says, "I just, I just, I just pray at work." So she hands the mike back to him and says, "Where do you work?" To which he replied, "Sunday School." I was waiting to see where he worked. He will quite often put a pen behind his ear and say, "I'm working mommy." Not sure who he's seen working like that! :-)
CJ and Bill Driver have this "friendship", CJ gets sooooo excited when Bill comes to church. Sunday morning Bill was there and he handed him his cell phone and said call daddy. CJ puts the phone down and shouts, "Daddy." Daddy was sitting on the platform in the band. Bill looks at me and says, "that's not quite what I had in mind!" :-)
Sunday night CJ was getting ready for bed and he was saying something about Bill. So I said to him do you want to talk to Bill? He said yes. So we called Bill, got his answering machine. I said to CJ, "Say Hi Bill." CJ took the phone and the conversation went something like this, "Hi Bill, I pooped on the toilet and I got mater. I'll get another car when I poop on the toilet again. I'm going to bed now in a couple of minutes, so bye and sweet dreams." I sort of sat there dumbfounded, I only told him to say, "Hi Bill!" :-) Bill called back a few minutes later and CJ was already in bed but he wasn't asleep yet so I took the phone up to CJ and CJ was talking with Bill and then he says, "Hey, I know. I have a question." So I said, "CJ what's your question?" CJ says, "My question is....." and then I don't remember how the rest of the conversation went.
Also, Saturday night when we were driving home. CJ and Kai were having a conversation in the back, it went something like this:
CJ: "I'll be right back."
Kai: "K"
CJ: "I just have to get gas"
Kai: "OK, CJ"
Kai's fingernail fell off on Sunday. His finger looks good, however, the nail part is quite small. Not sure if it will grow in bigger or if that's what it will look like now forever. Oh well, at least he has his fingertip!
We've had puppets the last few weeks at church. Sunday the puppet's were not there. However, during children's time Mrs. Reilly was saying that next week the puppets will be back. Kai looks at daddy and says, "Elmo coming Daddy!"
Everything baby is gone from our house. The crib is down and Kai is officially sleeping in his toddler bed. Did a huge purge of everything on the weekend and cleaned out the boys rooms! Time goes so fast, can't believe Kai is two and no longer the baby that walked in the door at a day old! People kept telling me time goes so fast and they are not a baby for every long, but during the sleep deprived weeks I didn't believe them because it felt like forever at that time. But looking back now, they were right. It doesn't last very long. They truly grow up way too fast!
